RIVERSCRIBES: PLAYWRITING
WEDNESDAY 3 APRIL - WEDNESDAY 12 JUNE 2024

Riverside Studios is delighted to present Riverscribes, a regular drop-in playwriting group suitable for anyone over the age of 18. Whether you’re working on a script and want some creative inspiration, you're intrigued by the idea of writing a play, or you simply want a creative outlet, these monthly meetups are informal, fun and open to everyone.

Led by actor and writer, Nadine Gray, Riverscribes is a place to develop your playwriting skills through ice-breakers, writing exercises and the sharing of ideas. There will also be an opportunity to test out the scripts of the group with script-in-hand performances.
Riverscribes meet every third Wednesday of the month at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith from 7pm-8:30pm.    Tickets are £5 and free for Dive In Members.

Julian Costello is a musician, composer, and teacher from London. He plays his saxophone and tries to approach life with humour.   His Quartet has toured the UK three times with support from the Arts Council and also toured Germany, Belgium, France and Poland.  The Julian Costello Quartet will be playing tunes from their new album “And All the Birds Were Set Free” which is being released on Friday 26th April

For 40 years, Fergal Keane’s sagacious reporting has transported us into the heart of conflicts across the world. From Kyiv to Kigali, he has held architects of atrocity to account while championing unsung stories of bravery, resilience and resistance.Spanning a plethora of subjects including Irish identity, humanitarian and economic crises and his own experiences with post-traumatic stress disorder, his work has shone a light on countless crucial issues of our times; leaving audiences better informed of -and more engaged with- the world as a result.

Dallahan  Saturday 6th April 
Following the release of their debut album When the Day Is On the Turn in 2014, Dallahan toured extensively in Europe and North America, establishing themselves at such prestigious international events as Milwaukee Irish Fest, Celtic Connections, Tonder Festival and countless others. The band was again shortlisted for ‘Album of the Year’ and they won ‘Instrumental Cut of The Year’ at the LiveIreland Awards (USA). In 2019, they released their third album Smallworld to critical acclaim and were shortlisted in the German Music Critics Choice Awards.

To date, they have brought their live show to 20 countries, earned three nominations for ‘Folk Band of The Year’ in 2016, 2019 and 2022 they continue to evolve their sound – which they call their own brand of World-Folk – as is evident on their upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Speak of the Devil’ which is set for release in early 2023.

Tim brings remarkable musical virtuosity, along with his effervescent performance, engaging personality and a sense of fun – combining this with a show that celebrates the music of both the Celtic, folk tradition’s plus excitng gypsy jazz, classical, acoustic  pretty much any style of music that Tim feels like at theme.

In 2023 Tim played headline shows at major festivals including Priddy, Broadstairs, Warwick, BLAS, Celtic Connections, Celtic Colours (Canada) and many more…

LEONARD BARRY: LITTORAL TOUR 2024
Andy Morrow and Seamie O’Dowd Saturday 20th April


Barry’s beautiful third solo album, released in January 2024, ten years after the acclaimed New Road. Produced by Michael McGoldrick, the album celebrates Leonard’s wealth of influences and knowledge as a master of the uilleann pipes. The title reflects both Leonard’s youth in the townland of Kilmoyley in North Kerry, and his current home on the Sligo coast, celebrating his journey as a musician with some of the many artists he has met on the way.   In April 2024 he tours Littoral with Andy Morrow on fiddle, and Seamie O’Dowd on vocals, guitar, and bouzouki.

Since launching his own solo live career at the 2016, Daoirí Farrell has gone from strength to strength with numerous honours from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards to ALSR Celtic Music accolades and worldwide touring. He has also received endorsements from the likes of Christy Moore (‘Daoirí has assumed the mantle of Luke [Kelly]’) and Mark Radcliffe (‘What a voice’).
Daoirí’s long-awaited fourth album, The Wedding Above In Glencree, was released in late February 2023 and made the RTÉ Radio 2 playlist in Ireland and reached number 11 on the Official UK Folk Albums Chart.

Johnny Marr has announced a UK headline tour for April 2024, which includes a show at Eventim Apollo on 12th April with support from Gaz Coombes.

The news arrives amidst a buzz of activity celebrating the first ten years of Johnny Marr’s prolific solo career. Spirit Power: The Best Of Johnny Marr, a major new collection curated by Johnny, is set for release on 3rd November via BMG. The album also includes two brand new songs titled ‘Somewhere’ and ‘The Answer’, and a number of unheard demos.

British pop superstar Paloma Faith will embark on the ‘The Glorification Of Sadness Tour 2024’ across UK & Ireland, which includes a headline show at London’s Eventim Apollo in April 2024.
Gearing up for another monumental chapter, Paloma Faith returns with the release of her brand new single and video ‘How You Leave A Man.’ The single precedes the 16th February release of Paloma’s sixth studio album ‘The Glorification of Sadness’ via RCA Records.
Please note Paloma Faith will be doing 2 sets on her upcoming tour and there will be no support. The first set starts at 8pm prompt.

Paul Weller, recently announced a 15-date April tour he starts off here in Shepherds Bush . With a career spanning 5 decades and an extensive and eclectic catalogue of songs to delve into, expect to hear new tracks from Paul’s forthcoming album “66” (released May 24th) along with deep cuts from his back catalogue and fan favourites.

Police Dog Hogan

The band are thrilled to be back at Bush Hall to perform a special concert in aid of the Hammersmith and Fulham Food Bank to who will receive all proceeds from the show. “Since they made their album debut back in 2010, Police Dog Hogan have been building a reputation as one of the country’s finest live bands and folk-country acts,” said Folk Radio in 2022. “Overground is their finest hour yet.”

Police Dog Hogan combine guitar, fiddle, banjo, trumpet and accordion with bass and drums to create a driving country-folk sound that has earned them a large live following.
Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank is an independent charity supplying emergency food parcels to local people in crisis. Demand has doubled in the last year .
